Norwegian Cruise Line

Formally part of Star Cruises Norwegian Cruise Line are famous for two things, their Hawaiian cruises and the introduction of freestyle cruising.

Norwegian Cruise Line, often known as NCL have set up a separate cruise company called NCL America to offer their Hawaiian cruises. This operation is being reduced in size down to two ships from three as this American arm is loosing money and fast.

One of the losses for Hawaii is a gain for the UK as the Pride of Hawaii is being renamed NCL Jade and will offer summer long cruises from out of Dover.

Norwegian Cruise Line introduced freestyle cruising to all their ships in an attempt to give their passengers what they want, more choice and flexibility. This has become such a hit that even Royal Caribbean is going to trial it on one ship during 2008.

If you are looking for a high standard of cruise, yet with a far more relaxed style and more freedom to choose, when, where and what you want to eat, then Norwegian Cruise Line is probably the cruise line for you.
