Azamara Cruises

When Celebrity Cruises announced the birth of Azamara Cruises it came as a bit of a surprise to the world of cruising. Originally two ships were transferred to Celebrity Cruises after Royal Caribbean purchased Pullmantur Cruises in 2007 and they were to be Celebrity Journey and Celebrity Quest and set to join up with Celebrity Xpedition. However after a change of heart Azamara Cruises was born.

Celebrity Cruises are technically the parent company although they themselves are owned by Royal Caribbean International. Celebrity say that Azamara Cruises is a deluxe brand and are the missing link between the ultra luxury brands such as Crystal Cruises, Silversea, Yachts of Seabourn, Seadream Yacht Club and themselves.

Azamara Cruises have renamed the two former Pullmantur Cruises and Renaissance Cruises ships Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest. At 30,277 tons they have a massive advantage over the more recent additions to the Celebrity fleet such as Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Millennium as they are capable of reaching ports other ships can not reach!

Traditionally Celebrity have been known to be one of the best cruise lines when it comes to dining, with Azamara Cruises they intend to take this reputation a step further, whether this happens has yet to be seen, however one thing is certain, you the passenger will feel more of a Celebrity on any of the Azamara Cruises, than you would a Celebrity one.
