Ocean Village Axed

Ocean Village Cruises is to be axed as Carnival rearrange their operation.
Even though Island Cruises has been sold by Royal Caribbean, this was not enough to save Ocean Village Cruises and they will be run down with both ships switching to P&O Cruises Australia.
According to Carnival, they feel the UK market will be better served with the current P&O Cruises fleet which is set to expand when Azure joins them in March 2010.
Cunard, one of the other Carnival owned cruise lines are also set to get a new ship, the Queen Elizabeth in 2010.

Island Cruises Sold, was on many cruisers minds today as Royal Caribbean have announced that the joint venture originally with First Choice and subsequently TUI is to be ended.
The break up will see Island Escape move to Thomson Cruises while Island Star, the better of the two Island Cruises ships and already owned by Royal Caribbean moving to Pullmantur.
Will this be the last cruise line to be sold or will we wake up to more news such as todays “Island Cruises Sold!”
