Though asked for by unions, the Government are unlikely to add a windfall tax to the energy companies when they finish finalising their fuel poverty package due out tomorrow.

Gordon Brown said the government would do “everything that we can” to help people with energy bills, however they also suggest they are looking for a long term solution rather than a one off short term fix.
