Supermarket Loans

One thing that is interesting in the search engine optimization world is how people actually search for things. Take Supermarket Loans for instance, sometimes people add words to a search term to make it more specific, other times they take words away. In this case are they asking for Supermarket Loans or for Money Supermarket Loans?

I guess we can only surmise, however the clever seo guy will say it is for whatever term, be it Money Supermarket Loans or just Supermarket Loans that they are optimising for!

Money Supermarket Revisited

I just realised it is a while since I wrote about Money Supermarket, the price comparison website. But then as I have put finance onto the back burner for a while, there is not much to write about Money Supermarket.

That said, Money Supermarket do offer Money Supermarket Loans, Money Supermarket Insurance, Money Supermarket Mortgages and Money Supermarket Credit Cards.

Money Supermarket Pop Ups

Why is it that even the largest Internet based companies feel we want Pop Ups (ads that appear when you land on a page); I hate visiting Money Supermarket as they always offer a pop up ad.

For goodness sake, let me search for what I want and don’t try to sell me something I don’t want! Money Supermarket, kill the pop ups!

Money Supermarket Loans

A new page entitled Money Supermarket Loans has been added to the site, this is in the Price Comparison section and comes under Money Supermarket.

Money Supermarket are the UK’s largest price comparison website and own about 49% of the market with their money supermarket loans sections being one of their strongest earners.

Could Google End Money Supermarket

The question is could Google end Money Supermarket? As Google carries on with its trials in offering price comparison solutions via its Sponsored Link at the top of a web page, could this end Money Supermarket and other price comparison websites such as Gocompare, Compare the Market, Confused.com and Virgin Money?

Another question that needs to be answered is, are Google actually becoming too greedy, they create the largest search engine and then from that cream off all the profits from the web by offering their price comparison results in a position that no one could ever afford to take away from them, the top of the search pages.

Companies involved in their trials include Debtbuster Loans, Fair and Square, Norton Finance, First Plus, Barclays, Norton Finance, Ocean Finance and Chase Zengo.

As too greed, YES I say, their goes my ranking, by offering these services they are controlling their visitors actions as it is common knowledge that 70% of people look at the first results in search pages and so they will have many free price comparison searches a month giving them lots of affiliate profit.

So could Google end Money Supermarket, I think NO, however the value of the company will be a lot smaller than it is now.

Money Supermarket Shares Drop

Money Supermarket shares drop by 4% today to 59.5p, a 16% rise week on week, though still a 68.62% drop from a year ago. With the recent upheaval in the finance markets and on the back of Barclays pulling the plug on Money Supermarkets most lucrative product Firstplus to new customers on Aug 9th, Money Supermarket feel that the potential credit squeeze could be good for them as people shop around for the best deals.
