AIG Insurance $20bn lifeline
US authorities have given AIG Insurance Company a $20bn lifeline. AIG are one of the world’s largest insurance companies and the authorities are trying to prevent another Lehman Brothers catastrophe.
The deal is between AIG and the New York State insurance regulators comes after AIG have written off assets of billions of dollars.
