The UK cruise market has lost Carnival Splendor, Carnival Cruises newest and largest cruise ship for next years cruising season. Carnival Splendor is being replaced for Carnival Cruises by the older (2004) though almost as large Carnival Liberty.

MSC Cruises are introducing MSC Express an online check-in system that MSC Cruises believe will speed up the check-in. Clients will fill in an online form and print it out taking it to an express check in point at the cruise port.
Costa Cruises Costa Deliziosa
Work has started on Costa Cruises Costa Deliziosa the cruise ship due to enter service in the spring of 2010. Costa Deliziosa will be the second of four ships in the Luminosa class of ships for Costa Cruises. Costa Luminosa is due to enter service on 5th June 2009.
Orient Lines Is Back
Orient Lines is back; well Wayne Heller owner of Cruises Only a US based cruise travel agency has purchased the brand from Star Cruises. Orient Lines was effectively put on sale during 2007 after its only ship the Marco Polo was sold. Orient Lines are now looking for a ship capable of carrying 6-800 passengers.
Royal Caribbean Develop Falmouth
Royal Caribbean is working alongside the Jamaican Port Authority in a bid to develop the Falmouth cruise port in Jamaica so that Oasis of the Seas can visit the port when she starts her Western Caribbean cruises in May 2010.
This is not the first time that Royal Caribbean have worked with a port authority, they did so with Southampton where they spent £10m to upgrade their terminal to accommodate Independence of the Seas.
